Meet the Staff

Although the history of A.Q. Allstate Pest Control, in various entities, has a history of serving the greater Des Moines area well before 1987, the current family ownership of the company resides with Brad and Nancy Janssen who assumed ownership in July 2002.

Brad Janssen

I have been in this business since 1988. It is an ever changing industry and one that I find great satisfaction in. Along with my step children I have a beautiful 18 year old daughter. She is now a freshman in college and wants to become an elementary school teacher. I enjoy golfing and boating with my wife.

Nancy Janssen

Brad and I have owned this company since 2002. There is a lot of hard work involved in the owning and operating of a business but it also has it's rewards. I have 2 boys. Bryce, the oldest, who is currently in the military and going to school. He has served his country by being deployed to Iraq for 14 months. Shortly after coming home he got married. His wife is also in the military. My youngest son, Erik, recently joined our business! See his profile below. I was on the Iowa Pest Management Association Board and served as President for a year.

Erik Hardt

Erik is Nancy's son and Brad's stepson. He is coming into the business to be the new owner when Nancy and Brad retire. He is married and has a son, Eiler, and a step daughter, Kyleigh. Erik holds a private pilot's license--perhaps crop dusting is in our future!!

Nathan Evans

Nate Evans has been with us since 2006. He is one of our Sales/Technicians. You will see him driving all over the city, if he isn't at your home or office. His hobbies include hunting & fishing.

Thomas Powell

Thomas has been with us since 2007. He is our dedicated Sentricon Termite Technician. When not scanning or installing the Sentricon system he doubles as a Pest Control technician. He has 2 daughters. He likes to work on his computer at home, when he has time!!!

Josette Gilliam

Josette Gilliam has been with us for almost a year. She is the voice you hear when scheduling appointments. She has 3 boys: Jared, Zach and Justin. She spends a lot of time at ball parks, courts and fields as the boys love sports! She also has 2 rather interesting dogs. If she has any free time, she loves to spend time with her children watching movies.
